Question about AR assembly.

This may be a silly question and if so I apologize. Being new to the AR game I figured asking now might save some headache down the road.

Do the pre ban/post ban rules apply anymore as far as what uppers and lowers you can mate together? I see on many sites selling uppers that you "Just drop onto your preban lower" etc.

Is this about the flash hiders or is all that moot now that the ban is gone. I intended to pick up a complete lower tomorrow and get an upper as soon as the wife stops yelling. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Some states are still "ban" states.......in tennessee you don't have to worry about that....yet.
