The representative from Illinois is an IDIOT. He wants us to register all handguns...I can see it now--a person walks in to a police station and says "yes officer, I'm a criminal and I would like to register this Glock 23 I bought off the street"....

What is it about the statement that CRIMINALS DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THE LAWS THEY PASS don't politicians understand? Is it really that difficult a concept to grasp?

Are politicians entirely without any form, or semblance of common sense whatsoever?

Well from what I gather (other than the fact they ARE idiots), they want them registered so when they can't catch the actual criminal they can go after who the gun is "registered" to. Gotta love the legal system.

According to SCOTUS decision, felons are constitutionally protected from having to register firearms. Since they may not legally possess them, requiring them to register them violates their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

Illinois beats out Memphis when it comes to the low class scum they elect as politicians, especially the Chicago area. Four governors of both parties recently getting in trouble, Jesse Jackson and his crooked son, Al Sharpton, and now BO. I didn't know about this criminal Bobby Rush being a us rep, but doesn't surprise me.

I'm sure he's totally legit and all his guns are legally possessed...if nothing else he probably has a club and beret.

I heard the tail end of this on XM on the way home yesterday. I like the way Dobbs ended it by slipping in something like: "I hope we can get you back on the show again to talk about better ways to combat this like poverty, etc."

I've heard Dobbs have our backs like this on more than one occasion.
