Troy Aikman Caught on Hot Mic Joking About Military Flyovers, Kamala/Biden with Joe Buck, NFL Game

They're right in that they're not a good use of tax money.  Flying over near empty stadiums when the federal government borrowed $3,000,000,000,000 in one fiscal year is a waste of resources and training hours.  I can't imagine flyovers is much of a benefit beyond the flight hours, and right now we need to streamline as much of the operations and training budget as we can while still having combat readiness.  So, sorry/not sorry, we shouldn't be seeing flyovers for a random 4pm game early in the season.

Those 2 could have said this as far as back 2008 when they were wasting 35k+ a flyover and even military agreed it was a waste but those same 2 were singing praises it shouldn't be taken away. This is virtue signaling on their part. What do they GAF about tax dollars and the economy NOW and not then !

I really have a hard time disagreeing with their sentiment, but I sure wish folks would leave politics out of entertainment.

THIS !

I agree its a waste at any sports event but they went further by endorsing a candidate.

If they had done that for the OTHER candidate there would be bleeding heart libs demanding their jobs.

I would not have cared for that either. Talk about football!

While I'm not overly fond of them, they have value as recruiting tools in some form.  Young kids see them at airshows and become enthralled with the idea, so the seeds of military service are planted.

Right now I see flyovers as time and money that should be reallocated to combat training, or operational missions of actual value.  Same with the Blue Angles and Thunderbirds you mention, just add in we should put those very good pilots back into line duty somewhere as either instructors or into combat formations.

As a taxpayer who understands what a bottomless money pit the government and military is I want more flyovers!

Certainly the AF and Navy can spare what is literally a few pilots to show the American people how awesome we are.  The people do need to be reminded.

They need reminding how awesome America is period. Maybe commentary on the jumbo tron from immigrants that fled socialism and risked it all to get here and live their American dream.

Flight hours are flight hours.  If they take a 10 minute break from practicing refueling and doing touch-and-go's to fly over a stadium, so what?  They're also practicing mission planning, coordinating with ATC and ground communications, and a whole host of other operational activities.
