Although Fox News and CNN are not telling you about it, a growing number of states are declaring sovereignty. Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, California, and Georgia have all introduced bills and resolutions declaring sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment. Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering such measures.

For details on the particular bills and resolutions introduced by the above states, check out the following:

New Hampshire

Arizona

Montana

I'm pretty certain TN joined those ranks fairly recently.

Legislators in Tennessee submitted House Joint Resolution 108 (HJR0108) on February 18th. While it’s non-binding, some of the language is quite well put. Here’s the intro:

A RESOLUTION to affirm Tennessee’s sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and to demand the federal government halt its practice of assuming powers and of imposing mandates upon the states for purposes not enumerated by the Constitution of the United States.

I really like the wording of that intro from TN.

Of course, unless the states are willing to do without federal funding it won't amount to much. If, however, the states are willing to financially take care of themselves sans federal funding this movement will have some teeth.

As it should.

Look for Senate Bill 1644 also.

I think it is being looked at and I believe I saw Sen.Mae Beaver's name attached to it.

If the Tennessee bill is not binding, what's the point? I loved the wording of the intro.

Won't have to worry about it.. The states don't have to give the feds the money.. and let the feds give 3/4 of it back with strings attached.. The states can just keep it and not have to fool with the feds.. period.
