Ok guys, need a bit of help. I have a bushnell 30mm red dot that i pulled off my 10/22 and want to mount it on my A4 upper. Its the red/green one with 4 reticles, fyi, i like it alot. Just eye balling it, I can tell the rings are too short. What ring height do i need to get to clear the front sight? Ring heights should be standard, from googling around it looks like they might not be. I've been googling for a couple hours and it looks like there are so many options its difficult to figure out what to try and buy.

If i ditch going with weaver rings directly on the A4, can someone point me at a riser block or scout rail or something that won't break the bank? Thanks.

Well, I went ahead and ordered a couple of cheap riser blocks from midway. Once I get them in, i can get on the micrometer and figure out what size rings to order if i go that route.
