Alright, you got me. Buying one now. A buddy has been hyping Olight to me recently so this is the perfect chance to try one.

$14.95 on Amazon, by the way.

A separate listing has a limited time deal that includes an Olight branded Micro-USB cable for a mere $0.30 more, so why not. This is the one I'm getting.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never trusted anything rechargeable. It always seems like they're great for a while, then they quit holding a charge properly & as much as I use my little pocket light, i'd hate it to let me down. AAA batteries always work.

That depends on the type of rechargeable batteries. Nickel Metal Hydride batteries would have to go through conditioning cycles every once in a while. Ni-Cad was worse IIRC. Most rechargeables that I've seen today use Lithium.

EDIT: The drawback to Lithium is that there's not the warning of dimming when the battery runs out of juice. It just drops you like a brick.

I've went to all rechargeable. I got tired of buying Surefire batteries by the box. One of my surefire’s will go dim as the batteries get weak. But my Surefire E2E goes from full light to dead.

So now I require everything (other than a keychain light, obviously 🙃) to be 18650 button tops, and I have a Nitecore charger. Batteries or charging isn’t an issue anymore.

I have carried mine for several years now on my keychain and it is a great little flashlight in high mode it is very impressive for the light it puts out. It has never ran down on me or failed to work. It does come on in my pocket once in awhile but I notice my pocket glowing before very long so it isn't a problem. I charge my just because every 3 or 4 months when I think about it.

So I received mine about a week ago. It is surprisingly bright and has very decent throw for a keychain light. I've used mine quite a few times at work. The one thing I don't like is having to pull my keys out to use it. I work IT and having to look under desks, behind cabinets, etc etc and etc, I'm worried about walking off and leaving my keys somewhere. The plus to that is I won't go home without the light, but I may very well not go home at all.

Kicking around the idea of either a quick detach system or something to put it on my belt.

I have a small carabiner that I put stuff on I may need to release quickly. (This light and a tiny USB drive.)

Might be worth looking into something from Keysmart, both for organizing/ containing your key bundle, and also helping find them if they're left somewhere unknown on-prem.

That's what I do, same thing one each for this light and USB drive. One for keys I don't need when we are off on an RV trip. Another for each of my. old cars that I only need when driving those cars. Works well.
