Class III - Or Pistol

So was perusing the local(ish) news and came upon this story about an arrest and they showed the weapons confiscated during the arrest and one stood out.  Anyone think this SBR is registered?  No federal charges are mentioned, you think they even know to check?

It could just be an AR pistol. Granted I do not know and do not pretend to understand the ATF's rulings on pistol braces, but that could be bought and sold as a pistol with a brace.

Not going to pretend to know about all the braces on the market, but that looks like it could be one. Kinda Shockwave Blade ish

Looks like a Trinity Force Butt Stock, not a brace, so this is definitely an SBR, legal or otherwise.

That doesn’t look like a brace, it looks like a stock to me. I don’t pretend to know all the NFA laws, but I don’t think you can legally put a hand stop on a pistol??

But, will any of that matter? I doubt it, they were shooting at a Police station. My guess is that will be okay with Metro Prosecutors and the Mayor.

You can put a hand stop on a pistol.   You can put an AFG on a pistol.  You cannot put a VFG on a pistol.

Yup, unless the pistol is 26" OAL, then you can...They are just trying to get someone on all these loopholes.

I also saw this on the news and there is one thing that stood out to me. One of the trio arrested for shooting up the police stations was arrested just 1 day earlier on gun charges and running from the law in Brentwood and bonded out and the very next day he is loaded down with more guns and shooting up a police station. I wonder if the courts will see fit to allow him to post bond and give him a 3rd chance at possibly killing someone next time!!!!

It's a bad idea to run sights since they might snag when you whip it out of your pants.   Regarding running no flash hider, it helps to illuminate downrange so no need to bother with a flashlight.
