Does anyone collect or know much about vintage Straight Razors.

Here's a few I came into ownership of.

Golden Rule Cutlery-Chicago

F.W.Engels-Solingen-Seems to be the nicest of the three.

Wade & Butcher-Sheffield-Has engraving on the blade.

I never shaved with one. I don't think I've even had a barber shave me with one.

My barber shaves my neck with the warm soap & straight razor, I remember the old barbers who had strops hanging on the chair & would shave your neck & around the ears. Never had a face shave.

In the Marine Corps we had barbers on base that would not only shave your neck and around your ears with a straight razor, they also performed a warm towel compress followed by a short Shiatsu message. Man! That was nice!

I used one for years. It gave me the best =closest shave I ever had. You have to be very mindful that everything in the mirror is backward so don't make the wrong move. It could be your last.

I know a good bit about straight razors.

I would guess a  US branded German Razor. A popular thing to do during the straight razor  hay day.  You can even find them with hardware store names on them..lol

Looks to be in good shape nothing super fancy but nothing bad either

Nice old Sheffield blade. I would guess it to be around  1860's-1880's.. somewhere around in there.

Looks like horn scales as well.

Really nice razor. the most valuable of the group. A nice little set
