More Dumb Stuff From Washington

Statements from th AG.

WASHINGTON — Eric Holder, the nation's first black attorney general, said Wednesday that the United States was "a nation of cowards" on matters of race, with most Americans avoiding candid discussions of racial issues.

In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.

"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial, we have always been, and we, I believe, continue to be, in too many ways, a nation of cowards," Holder said. Race issues continue to be a topic of political discussion, but "we, as average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race."

99% of the time if you disagree with a minority you're branded a racist. Different races, ethnic groups and people of the same religion want to socialize with each other, not people they don't have things in common with.

Is Washington going to start picking our friends for us too?

What is there to discuss that has not been hashed over and over millions of times!!

What more do the pushers of the minority agenda want?

A large percentage of government is minority, both elected and bureaucrats.

Is there is money to be made and jobs to be created by stirring the pot?:usa: Not to mention legislation to be enacted on.;)

Could he mean that we are all politically correct to the point we are cowards for not speaking out?

I agree with him 100% in that it is still major taboo and people are ignorant and cowardly in discussion of anything race related here in the USA

We still have segregated Churches. Only now it is is personal preference rather than law

....same with schools

....and neighborhoods

But the thing is - is it also 100% legal to do so. That being the case it is much to do about nothing.

FYI...Bill Cosby said the same thing a while back (only sugar coated) and everyone seemed to agree with him.

How about the fact that people, such as myself, do segregate themselves from others because we want to. Case in point. I live in memphis. I choose to live in a majority white neighborhood because I don't want to listen to rap music all night, hear gunshots all the time, or live next to a house that's painted hot pink with lime green trim. I also value my posessions and don't want them stolen. Call me a racist, a realist or whatever....but hey, it's my life, it's STILL a free country and I can do what I damned well please. Tell the "minorities" to start acting like civilized human beings, have a little pride in themselves and their surroundings and I and a whole lot of other people wouldn't have a problem interacting with them.

WTF do they expect me to do?!?!?! I guess I'm supposed to go find a group of black people, run up and tell them" Eric Holder says I don't have enough integration in my lifestyle. Will you be my friend?" I'd get my ass kicked, and I would deserve it!

Mustangdave is right, shut up and do you dang job!!!

Hey it is a two way street blacks do not go out of their way to interact with whites either. I think the cartoon was a damn cartoon period, that they had a couple of talking heads fueling the racist fire was a bunch of crap. Holders comment was bull****, oh and he's bull**** to.

Justice department is a joke went through 7+ years of Gonzales and now we get this piece of crap. Rule of law?????????? the founders are spinning in their graves faster than a centrifuge.

I would think the AG would have more important things on his plate... I think the nation is integrated as people want it to be. Beyond that, leave folks alone to make their own decisions.
