How long did it take you to get your permit?

I’ll lead the thread by example telling my story. I went to get the enhanced permit after finally deciding that I wanted to carry for protection. I’ve shot targets and enjoyed guns for years, so i was already proficient when I went in to the facility for range and classroom testing. I had taken the training course on a Saturday, went to the fingerprints station and also the DMV Monday, and was informed by the website that my permit was approved on Tuesday.  Basically went from nothing to “card is in the mail” in 4 days. From what I’ve gathered that’s pretty quick in TN.  On Wednesday i asked a cop buddy if my ID showed CCW when ran and he said yes. Dang they’re fast! The process was fast considering everything that needed to be done (fingerprinting, DMV, range training, classroom training, etc) all at different locations on different days and it was still all done and card mailed in 4 days start to finish. I know due to work schedules and other issues people tend to do each step as they can and you have X days to complete each step.

So what’s your story on getting your Permit and did you get enhanced or standard?

I can't remember how long as it was 8+ years a go but probably around two weeks or so. One1, if you're not a member of CRC, you should be. If you would like a tour of our facility, just ask.

Whoa, that was faster than I expected.

I took the EHCP class in Saturday 10/23.

Went to the DMV Monday morning 10/25.

Fingerprinted at 4pm Tuesday 10/26.

Just checked the application status and it said I was approved on 10/26 and to expect the card in the mail between 11/9 and 11/17.

I do not remember much from 25 years ago. I was glad when they changed the permitting rules and the class was fun.

Very few people are taking the ECP course.  Folks don’t know what they don’t know.  Permitless carry has limitations. ECP is still the way to go.
