XD Trigger Job

Has anyone here installed a Powder River Precision trigger upgrade in their XD? Did it make much of a difference? I'm fine with the trigger on the XD but I'm sure fond of a 1911 trigger. I know this kit won't quite get to 1911 status but it helps based on what I've read on another forum.

I'm mechanically inclined so I don't think I'll have a problem installing it. I have a hard time swallowing $75 for those two little pieces without it making a significant difference though.

I've had one, but I actually prefer the Springer Precision. I went with the level 3. It was much better, but still not even close to a good 1911.

Installing them is not a problem, if it doesn't have to be "fitted". Some of them claim to be "drop-in", but in most cases, they should be called "semi drop-in". More than a few times have I heard of folks needing a gunsmith to get things to fit just right. I did my own with a very little Dremel work.

Personally, if it's a carry gun, I wouldn't spend the money. However, if it's going to be used for competition, it couldn't hurt. But that's just me.

Actually I'm interested too for my XDm. I did some research though, and the one walk-through I found looked pretty complicated. Enough so to kind of scare me away. You should buy one, and let me know how it goes! :P

My first XD9 (before the DIY kits) I had Springer do his thing and it was very nice. My second I used the Powder River kit with the over travel stop and it was nearly as nice. very easy to install and does exactly what it promised. There was some difference but not so much to justify the cost of shipping the gun off for the full trigger job.
