I believe I've seen this torture test before with the Glock 21 and heard about the others and the Glocks reputation for durability and reliability. That's why I bought a G-21SF. I shot about 75+ through it today on my brothers property, about 30+ yards down towards his pond, no paper targets or bench rest, just plinking. I shot a mag of Hornaday Tap 230gr +Ps because that's what I keep it loaded with, muzzel velocity about 1000 fps. The rest was just some Winchester 230gr hardballs. Of course no malfunctions, none with anything I've ever put through it in the past. My Kimber used to get failure to go into battery often. Anyway, just shooting at some debris in the pond today told me I can hit a torso size target at that distance, although it's not a detailed accuracy test it's good practice. Someday I'll try a sand bag and see what's it's capable of but I have the utmost confidense it will work for me.

Put it in there and work the action. Wet it down and let it soak it all up for a couple of months then see where you are.

That being said, we have a Glock 21 with a 3 digit SN that is in our rental program. It gets at least 100 rounds a day and it has never been cleaned. Maybe a couple of drops of oil in the "oiling" spots along the slide every couple of months and that's it. Still ticking along.

Was at an indoor range in Cincinnati with the owner, a good friend, when the GLock rep came in. A Glock 21 rental with over 10k through it. He broke it down and replaced the pins, on which the slide slides, and said it was ready for another 10k. Said they didn't need to be replaced but, did it cause he was there.

I saw a similar test done on 1911's and believe or not the inexpensive RIA did better or equal to the high dollar ones. I will see if I can find it and post it here.

Yeah, there are two Glock "test" and an XD "test" that keep getting recycled. Bottom line is that they are tough and reliable like many other out there and unlike many others out there.

Well he did bury it in his backyard for 2 years, dig it up, and put 500 rounds through it supposedly with the same rusted springs and no lube.
