COVID-19, Scams, and us

It occurred to me today that with all the quarantining, isolation, etc. going on that folks are going to have a lot more time on their hands. As I remember an old saying having something to do with idle hands, I strongly suspect that dishonest shenanigans are going to be on the rise. While I don’t think we’ve seen too much of an uptick here, we’ve always been very lucky on that front to have a low instance of dishonesty here, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to be extra vigilant for folks trying to take advantage. 
 

 

Keep a skeptical eye, and if something seems off, walk away. Please be sure to flag any posts/ ads/ interactions that are suspicious and make the moderation team aware.

Already read many articles of scams cranking up. And our local PD has posted about it on social media.

I hate it that gun sites and forums were spamming with scams prior to this. I’m glad this forum doesn’t do that.

We’ve been very fortunate on that front. I believe the membership of this place is to thank for that.

My contractor got a call earlier this week, "your SSN has been compromised, call us or your SSN will be invalid."

He's pretty excited, it would get him totally off the grid
