I'm going to Tunica, MS in a couple of weeks and was wondering about carrying in the casinos/hotels?

This is off topic but,

Are you going from an offer in the mail.

I have been getting offers from Gold Strike for round trip air, ground transfer and Hotel.

I go to Vegas 7 or 8 times a year, how does Tunica compare?

Do they have shows and shopping.

As far as the handgun,I have never been in a casino hotel that did not have a safe.I trust them with $10k + at a time and would trust that my carry is secure.

There are some shows, and some shopping, and restaurants, nothing like Vegas, IMO. The gambling areas..similar IMO.

The Sirens of TI, the water show at the Bellagio, Amusment park at the Circus Circus, the high end stuff, nothing like that at Tunica.

Some decent shows, music concerts, comedy, etc. at times

I did not see hordes of Mexican's, Vietnamese, etc snapping porn cards at you in Tunica.

While I only worked there, I can say Tunica is NO Vegas. BTW if you stay at the Grand Casino Hotel, I did the plumbing work on the outdoor pool. The hottest most miserable job I ever had!

I guess Ill try it in mid March.Back to Vegas next week, they got something that belongs to me about 3 weeks ago and I aim to get it back!!!

Yah right!!

More like Im going to help pay the casinos electric bill.

I tried to keep an open mind, but Tunica sucks, IMHO. It doesn't even come close to Vegas.

My dad and I went one weekend, and it was dead. I don't recall which big hotel/casino we stayed at, but it was almost like a ghost town. On top of that, the food was way overpriced, and you could only eat off certian bars at the buffet. I guess you had to be a "Platinum Member" to have access to certian foods. I think the buffet was $15+ per person :P for crappy, stale slop.

We went over to a couple other casions, and they didn't seem to be any better. The casino and our hotel room were pretty nice, but we cut our trip short after the first night. Not what we were expecting.

If you just have to throw your money down the drain, I guess it's worth the trip, but I've never been a big gambler, so I can manage to save my money till my next trip to Vegas. At least I can go broke in style. Oh, and eat much better while doing it.

We ate at Paula Dean's, it's a buffet, I ate my weight in food, I even think I probably ate a $50 worth of crab legs.. It was outstanding.

But yea, as mentioned, it is no Vegas.

Things have probably changed since my last visit, because I went long before Paula Dean became known to the majority. My visit was years ago.

Hey Tunica's no Vegas, but it's better than some of the Indian and Riverboat junk I've seen. Better than Missouri law games, Arkansas dog track, etc.

I give a big hats off to the Horseshoe. Play a table game for 15 minutes and they'll comp you two buffets without blinking. Good food on their buffet too.
