Obama Signs Presidential Determination Allowing Palestinians Loyal to Hamas to Resettle In US

President Barack Obama has signed an executive order allowing

thousands of Palestinians to resettle in the United States . Sure, what can go wrong when we allow thousands of people who

have been, as Mark Steyn memorably described, "marinated" in a "sick death cult," who voted for Hamas, and 55% of whom support suicide bombings live here and at the American taxpayers' expense:

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in migration assistance to the Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza .

The "presidential determination" which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

President Obama's decision, according to the Register, was

necessitated by "the urgent refugee and migration needs" of the "victims."

Few on Capitol Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let's review some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since he was inaugurated a little more than two weeks ago:

* His first call to any head of state as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

* His first one on one interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

* He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and 9/11.

* Today we learn that he is allowing thousands of Palestinian refugees to move to and live in the US at American taxpayer expense.

Following is the full text from the Executive Order as published in the Federal Register:

I would like to see this thing, and to exactly how it is written. Something tells me that it was written to let these people in our country, but to allow the great Ohole a bunch of deny ability.

So what if, just purely what if, one of these blokes come over here, settles, creates a small terror cell, and commits a terrorist act? Surely the Obamatron would not be held accountable.

There is as yet no evidence that any Palestinian will be relocated to the US because of this act:

From:

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-palestine-refugees.htm

Summary of the eRumor:

A forwarded email saying that President Obama has signed an executive order granting a $20,300,000 expenditure to allow hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees who are loyal to Hamas to immigrate to the United States.

The Truth:

According to published reports, in January, 2009, by the Associated Press, President Obama authorized an emergency contribution of $20.3 million solely for "urgent relief efforts in the Gaza Strip." The State Department issued no statement regarding any plans or policies for immigration of Gaza refugees out of the Middle East.

The U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance (ERMA) fund was set up in accordance to the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1962 where the President of the United States may determine that funds be released to aid refugees for relief and migration. President Obama issued this determination on January 27, 2009. Click here for the Presidential Order

The authorization was issued a day after the United Nations launched an appeal for $613 million to aid Palestine in recovery efforts. The article said, "The money will go to U.N. agencies and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which are distributing emergency food assistance, providing medical care and temporary shelter, creating temporary employment and restoring access to electricity and potable water."

There is an official release detailing the distribution of funds on the America.Gov web site. Click for details.

This was shortly after the world focus was on Gaza when Israel launched a military operation that lasted three weeks in efforts to neutralize Hamas rocket launchers that had been targeting Southern Israel. Many locations within the Gaza area were deemed targets by Israel including Hamas intelligence headquarters, locations of rocket-launchers, squads, and a tunnel used for smuggling weapons from outside sources.

The outcome of the Israeli operation dealt a severe blow to Hamas with an estimate of $2 billion in damages reported along with the deaths of 1,300 Palestinians including Hamas commando Mohammed Shalpokh which Israel blamed for the rocket attacks against them from northern Gaza.

It is not uncommon that a President issue such an order. President George W. Bush determined that funds be sent to refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, and Sudan more than once during his terms in office.

If you go the the Whitehouse site he gave 20 million dollars. It doesn't say he opened our borders to them although it wouldn't surprise me.

Obama Provides Emergency Funds for Gaza Relief

Funds go to U.N. relief agencies and Red Cross

Washington — President Obama authorized the use of $20.3 million in emergency funding for immediate humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in the Gaza Strip, the U.S. State Department said.

The announcement follows remarks by U.S. Middle East special envoy George Mitchell, who said, “President Obama has expressed the deep concern of the United States about the loss of Palestinian life and the humanitarian needs in Gaza†at a briefing in Ramallah in the West Bank on January 29.

Mitchell is on a mission to the region to show American support for the Arab-Israeli peace process, and to consolidate a sustainable and durable cease-fire in Gaza. He met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and other senior Palestinian officials in Ramallah and Jerusalem January 29.

Mitchell met with U.N. relief director John Ging at a U.N. warehouse in Jerusalem January 30.

“U.S. government support for humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees and conflict victims now totals nearly $120 million in [fiscal year] 2009, including nearly $60 million in Gaza,†the State Department announcement said.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon made an urgent appeal for $613 million January 29 to cover the immediate recovery needs of the people in Gaza for the next six to nine months. He said a formal appeal will be announced February 2 in Geneva at the U.N. Mission.

Ban said, “Help is urgently needed, including food, clean water, shelter, medicine and the restoration of basic services.

“When I saw the people in Gaza, the destruction and severity of the challenges were beyond description.â€

U.S. ASSISTANCE TO THREE AGENCIES

Of the $20.3 million in new emergency funds, $13.5 million will go to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), $6 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross and $800,000 to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. These agencies will distribute emergency food assistance, provide medical assistance and temporary shelter, create temporary employment, and restore access to electricity and drinkable water for people living in the Gaza Strip, the department said. About 1.4 million Palestinians live in Gaza.

“Today's contribution to UNRWA augments the $85 million the United States contributed in December 2008 toward UNRWA's 2009 appeals,†the department said.

UNRWA is the largest provider of humanitarian aid in Gaza, providing 70 percent of the population with emergency food assistance, essential health care and primary education. “We are working to develop a longer-term reconstruction [and] development effort with international partners,†the State Department said.

The relief efforts have begun in earnest following a 22-day conflict between Israeli and Hamas forces. Hamas, a terrorist organization, seized control of the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian Authority in June 2007. The conflict began when Hamas launched dozens of rockets and mortars into southern Israel. Israel responded with an air and ground offensive to halt the attacks.

In addition to the aid announced January 30 by the State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development has provided more than $3.7 million for emergency assistance to Gaza. “Food, milk powder, blankets, plastic sheeting and other nonfood items have been distributed to beneficiaries, and the distributions are continuing,†the department said.
