How long do the feds keep a record of a transaction through an ffl, whether in or out of state transfer? How long does the ffl have to keep his records and what happens if an ffl goes out of business?

The feds do not have any record of transactions for FFLs still in business. The only record is in the FFL's bound book. TBI erases the TICS background check 72 hrs after it is completed. The FFL must keep all records of transactions indefinitely while still in business (I think) but they must hand them over to the ATF upon going out of business.
