On a probably unrelated note, I’m hearing several reports locally of an outbreak of RSV. I thought that mainly affected small children, but these are pretty much all adults. Weird times.

Biden to require all federal workers (and contractors) be vaccinated or tested weekly.  Start paying $100 to everybody else to get inoculated.

Things are getting real interesting.

Texas and Indiana lawsuits upholding mandates are going to start a lot of companies on the same path.

Nobody wanted to be the guinea pig - but now they've got case law in their favor.

Already this week VUMC and Ascension Health have mandated here in Nashville.

Pretty sure our whole family had it for about week and a half. I was pretty down with it. Chest and head congestion. Ended up with sinus infection. Of course clinic did the Rona test and of course it was negative. Kids and adults both had pretty significant symptoms

The snowball started going down hill this week as far as vaccinations go.

Yeah, I think that probably rounds to true.

I think there's an outbreak of LTEM too. LOST THEIR EVERLOVING MINDS!

No doubt about that and there’s not a thing that can be done to change it.

I had a nephew who was born prematurely contracted RSV before he ever left the hospital. It was sure rough on the little fella, but he finally overcame it.

I've talked to a lot of people that have no intentions of being a Guinea Pig. UNVACCINATED, FREE, AND PISSED OFF!

Update on Phil Valentine - looks like he's in increasingly poor shape.  I hate this for his family - and hope he pulls through.  Hearing that someone needs to be put on ECMO is heartbreaking:

I am all for people doing whatever they feel ok with.  I got vaccinated because I didn't really have strong opinion one way or the other.  My buddy just texted me and a few buddies that he tested positive today.  We all had dinner on Tuesday night, but he thinks he probably got it on a weekend trip to KY last weekend.  He had the J&J.

Basically said he just has a fever at this point.

At the end of the day, if the vaccine keeps me from getting really, really sick, ok by me.  I am 46, overweight, and have zero cares about the possible long term side affects.  I am more likely to die from a heart attack than anything the vaccine can do to me.

Everyone has to make their own choice.  Don't want it, don't get it.  I just don't want to hear the words 'it's a tragedy' when someone that isn't vaccinated dies from COVID.  We all make choices and we all have to live with the consequences, but it won't be a tragedy.

Dan Mandis said today that they are having a hard time locating an EKMO machine in middle Tennessee. 😞

I’m aware of someone who died this week in Arkansas who otherwise shouldn’t have just because they couldn’t get them a bed within that magic hour.

They’re completely out of space.

Yes, an available Machine is the issue. I imagine they are trying to go to Vanderbilt but need open beds and availability. This is a truly bad sign. He can only be on EKMO for so long before they have to pull you off. Some can make it but some do not. I’ll be saying a prayer for Phil. Don’t wish this on anyone

I’ve never heard of an EKMO machine but it does appear it’s a lot more serious than being on a ventilator.

Are we starting to see hospitals starting to fill up with deltas and a shortage of equipment and resources ?

Sadly, most don’t. I’ve listened to Phil long enough he seems like a member of the family.

EKMO is an external machine that exchanges oxygen and CO2 in your blood. Most often used during transplant surgeries or in cases of significant lung damage(this case) or heart weakness.

it means his lungs are experience severe disease or damage that are not allowing them to effectively exchange Oxygen and CO2. He can develop hypercapnia which is basically CO2 poising and becomes fatal.

Thanks for the clear explanation.

Meanwhile our glorious Government is handling this "great". That said with a lot of sarcasm. Open border with all types of China Virus coming in but, apparently that's not a concern. Falsey first said no mask required, then wear a mask, then wear 2 masks. How much are they paying that fool?
