Got a two handle shower that will leak when I shut the hot water off. It is made by Valley but they are built like Delta. Bought the new stem kit, new spring and rubber seal. My problem is that I go from either that it won't shut off at all,the flow is all out or about half way on, but the water won't shut off or the way it is in right now, it will shut off....almost. There is a constant drip.

The parts that I replaced is this below and the spring and rubber seal.

The spring goes in, the rubber seal oes around the spring, the part above goes in with the bottom part of the pic in first, then the extender thing that attaches to the top of the pic above, then the metal surround with the hole in it, that you tighten up, the reattach the handle.

I'm guessing that I am not positioning it correctly when I put it in, then reinstall, but I can't figure it out. I would like to shoot it at this point.:tough:

Make sure you don't have it 180 deg off. I did that once with the same type faucet...

You know, I think that might be my problem. At the end of the stem is the piece that sticks up so that the extender (part that goes out so that you can attach the handle/knob) was on the right or the inside of the knobs. I went back a minute ago and turned it 180 degrees so that it is on the outside side and it has stopped, except I have to turn the knob to turn it off, and it leaks, but if I turn it back, like I am going to turn it on, just a hair, it will shut off. It's not perfect, but it is close.
