New Muzzleloader Design from Shot Show 2020

Federal has come out with the Federal Fire Stick.  It is a prepackaged 100gr or 120gr load.  Currently only Traditions makes a muzzleloader that it will work in.

Not having a breech plug is a big advantage to me.  I am interested to see if Encore comes out with a barrel that this work in.

That's cool but can we use it in Tn during muzzleloader season? Technically it's a breech loader.

Ok, I see now. My bad. The bullet loads from the muzzle and the fire stick from the breech. Interesting.

7. Muzzleloading firearms are defined as those firearms which are incapable of being loaded from the breech.

What would keep someone from loading the bullet from the breech?

No doubt. It's probably legal but I think it could lead to a very awkward conversation with a TWRA officer.

I expect the breech end is at least a few thousandths narrower than the bullet diameter to prevent breech loading, no?

Their diagram doesn’t look like it - but surely there’s a rim or something.

Looks like a "lip" between the muzzle end of the Firestick and the base of the projectile.

It's a proper ruling from TWRA , 1 day we will just have a season and a limit, I may be so old that I will have to use my pickup instead of a rifle 🤣
