Recent Ruger Blackhawk Blue Finish?

I've owned a few Blackhawks in the past. The finish is good, but nothing fancy. Just a rather plain blue, but it does seem to hold up well.

What exactly is your concern?

It’s fairly flat. Not much polish to it. I collect old Ruger single actions and love their finish. My last three Ruger single actions were full of tooling marks and sloppily fit. I’d inspect closely or try to buy in person.

let me get a couple of pictures up-both mine are about 2 years old-I like the bluing-it is actual bluing not the phosphate finish that all the others pass off as bluing.

That’s kinda what I wanted to see. While not a polished blue like Smith & Wesson, it appears to have a little shine. I think I’ll check out the gun show here tomorrow, and if don’t find anything (which is usually the case anymore); I’ll order new.

It ain’t a Colt if that’s what you’re after. You remind me of my father. Knows what he wants, but too tight to pay for it. Quit beating yourself up and go get a Colt.

I had colts. I had Pythons. But I sold them because they were junk. If I just wanted a fantastic blue finish I would buy S&W. Unfortunately, they don’t make old azz cowboy guns.

So, unless you are going to sell me one of your Colts for $500, go get one of your Blackhawks out and take pictures of it, and properly answer the question. I’ll hurry up and wait right here.

Dang kids. :drama:
