Made some Thursday night on the griddle. My 6 year old daughter loves them. Especially with a few chocolate chips dropped in before I flipped them. I think I'm the only one that used Karo as syrup. 😆

😁 Our boys campaign pretty hard for frosting, but I won't do that. It's just too much sugar to start the day.

I know a guy who makes maple syrup. It's pretty delicious, everything from pancakes to coffee to baked beans.

When my kids were little, the sprinkles were reserved for cinnamon toast....or ice cream.

And now you eat them on anything you please, right? 😁

I got some hickory syrup as a gift recently - and didn’t actually know that was a thing.  But it’s delicious - especially in coffee or on ice cream. its got a nice smoky flavor.

Me neither. That's pretty interesting, and makes me wonder what other tree sap could be syrupized.

I made a double batch of pancakes for breakfast New Year's Day.  I like peanut butter or whatever fruit preserves we have open on them. Sometimes both. :)

I think they use the bark.

I make a couple of gallons every year.

Happy to post the instructions, if anyone's interested!

Not so buddy. I didn't know there was anything else till into my teens. lol That's what my grandparents baked with...forever.

There may be a bottle left around here from my late mother's cooking and baking, but I always thought it too heavy and sugary. So we have had several different brands of lite Maple syrup, Aunt Jemimah's and the like.
