I felt bad...

Joe at herogear told me I was that one customer that stole deals all over the place. Ya, okay, I do buy low and sell high from time-to-time, but this affords me the luxury of giving it all to Joe... And although he did sell me the 1927 NYPD revolver, I did trade it back to him with much more than it came with, namely documentation I acquired (he has it under-priced in his case, btw... If you are collector, better hurry down there, someone else might buy it)

But I really don't steal guns from dealers....

Here is one I didn't steal from Joe:

DSC00191.jpg

A 1944r Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant. Although it was marked "C H" indicating it had passed the accuracy test, it wasn't issued as a sniper, it spent it's life in regular hands before being rebuilt and tucked away, then dug out and fitted with a PU scope and mount of modern vintage (although manufactured in the original factory), then shipped to the US care of CAI.

Izhevsk stopped making snipers to my knowledge, in 1942. As all the markings for these guns are on the barrel, I suppose somewhere, somehow, parts were intermingled with new serial#'s in the rebuild process, making it even less rare and less valuable.

These rifles were assembled in the Ukraine before being exported. The problem with most of them was they were not adequately zeroed at the time of assembly. Although this one passed for sniper use, It will probably only post marginal groups, having untold rounds through it prior to me getting it. I'll find out soon enough...

But, I've always wanted one. I've had Short Rails, Long Rails, High and Low Turret K98's over the years... This will be fun

I fondled that gun at Joe's shop a few months back. Would have loved to take it home with me! Good buy, dude. Tell us how it shoots!

The stock bands were not installed properly a month ago. I went ahead and fixed them while I was there. It made the rifle more appealing to me. I should have just left it screwed up... saved my shekels for the FN HB semi they have now...

You should have bought it and saved me the heartache

I didn't notice about the bands. I'm not an expert on many things, so They probably could have been missing and I might not have noticed! :tough:

They are correctly installed now, wanna buy it? :D

This is one of about eleventy million that CAI contracted minimum wage workers in the Ukraine to pull up from the salt mines and convert with modern tool to sniper spec's. RARE, RARE, Rearend/rare,,,, seen at gunshows for $1,000's more than my asking price of only 40x what I paid...

and since Dan and Joe like you better than me, only about 2x what you would have paid...

Years ago, I bought a Mosin Sniper rifle (with ORIGINAL PU scope) that had been captured and reworked by Sako.....it's fun to shoot, you'll like yours. Just don't shoot it the same day you shoot some of your more modern guns, then you'll be slightly disappointed......sigh

Anyway, good score and good luck.
