Urban Carry Holsters

I tried one a few years back.....returned it. Only works well if you keep the belt loose. Not practical IMO. Plus it takes two hands to draw. No thanks.

I have one on the way to me to carry my Colt Defender.  Hopefully my experience will be better than what Mamba had with the holster.  I'll let you know.

No knowledge of these, but they remind me of Galco holsters. I do like leather holsters, almost exclusively owb models. Not sure of the kydex/leather hybrids. They seem to be the coming thing in carry these days, but until I see and use one, I'm staying with my leather. JMO

The one Im looking at is the LockLeather, not the G3 that takes two hands to get to.

Interesting concept, but totally different than their Urban Carry models. Frankly I don't see the advantages over Kydex. Yeah, maybe a bit more comfy but leather is bulky IWB or OWB. Regardless of their promo video points, I've never had an issue with Kydex or 600D nylon for that matter.

I received the holster and right away gave it a try.  My thought is...meh.

It does indeed securely lock in my Colt Defender.  It does require a solid push to seat the gun into retention.  Once fully seated the gun is not going anywhere accidentally.  Removing the gun requires quite a bit of straight up force.  TBH, I don't like how hard I need to pull upwards to remove the gun.  If I could have gotten a Safariland ALS level 2 retention holster for this gun, that's the way I would have gone.  Unfortunately they do not offer an ALS holster for this gun.  With the ALS holster the activation of the thumb release removes all resistance holding the gun in place.  By contrast, this Urban Carry offering requires the user to over power the retention mechanism.
