Forgot to mention, if anyone desires a Sig P6/P225 German surplus pistol, there is a dealer there with 2 of them, including box, 2 mags, holster, even a mag pouch. He has a bunch of new Sigs as well.

Also, the guy says he has a shop behind Carter's Shooting Supply, so is this a new gun shop in Chattanooga? Glad to see it if so. He gave me his card, no business name on it, but his name is Scott Matheny.

Couldn't make it today, going in the AM. How was the ammo supply?

The only thing behind Carters is a repair garage, and some storage buildings :tough:

More info would be great!

Edit; That name did pull up a new business license on Times Freepress, but doesn't say for what

Not any in bulk, saw 1 tin of x54 and the other large amount was 600 rounds of x39 in boxes and sealed in plastic bag for $150. other than that a few boxes here and there! Spuds does have a bunch of various types! I think he bought out the Walmart on Gunbarrel!:tough:

I think that he wanted $350 for the p6's. I got there around noon or so. Ammo selection wasn't so good. Decent selection of stuff, but nothing really appealing to me.

i saw VOW boxing up some 7.62x39 at the store this week. i think it was 275 rds on strippers in an ammo can for $90 OTD. Not bad, but not super cheap. Looked like brass cases though.

Sorry, forgot the price. Yes, $350 + tax + $10 TICS for the P225/P6 pistols, he had 2. One appeared to be a wee bit nicer than the other, and both were the most complete rigs I've seen. Some folks selling them without the holster, one mag, etc.

The guy said he rented from Carter, and he was back in the storage building area. I've never been back there. I don't think he has retail hours yet but he said he was working on it.

Can you view the Business Licenses online, or do you mean the Tuesday or Wednesday paper?

Slim, did you price the 54R? I think I may have seen it but failed to ask.

Have to go back tomorrow, I was so happy with my take on the day I left the rifle I'd carried in behind a pal's table, so I gotta go get it. May have to detour to an ATM on the way.

Yugo. Nice ammo, but corrosive.

You can review them from the County Clerks Office I believe for a small fee,but I just Goggled his name, and it brought it up from the paper.

Carters does own those storage units, but not sure how eager Ray would be for renting one out to a competitor like that:lol:

Have any contact info for the guy?

Hello Spuds, no i did not price that ammo tin, i cant believe you left a gun behind!! That should tell you, you have to many! You did have nice stuff there, i really did like the Enfield, but dont need another one, but you dont see many like that! There were really a lot of nice mil-surps there. I also would find it hard to believe Carters would allow another gunshop to open, behind his.I still would like to know, when you joined Law Enf. i had told you it shows the badge, next to your CCP in your avator, or is my vision going all to heck!

Dont forget to pick up your gun, the one you left behind.

Got his card, has a phone # but no email. Not going to post his phone number without his permission, you can PM me for it if you want it. I don't know anything about Carter, nor this guy, other than what he represented to me.

It was just a 91/30, not like I left an AK. Still . . . .

Every one of those settings was just the opposite of what I had set to, had me as LEO and military, and said I didn't have a carry permit. Either something went screwy when they upgraded the software here or someone monkeyed with my settings, dunno why anyone would do that though. Said the questions were optional so I clicked reset so that I could just not answer them, but it wouldn't take out, had to be yes or no. Left it on no for the permit, folks can look it up on the Communist appeal database on their website if they want to know.:D

Spuds, glad to hear my vision is ok! I just thought it was one of your many Aliases, that was why i asked you at the show, the L.E. part seems to have been there since about a month!

Maybe you got hacked? No, it was not me!

Its a conspiracy!:D

Didnt realize how far cleveland was lol. Is it worth a 2 hr. drive lol

I would say no, since it was about 90 tables, and the last 5 show as i went to in Knox. which is about a 120 miles for me, 3 out of those were not very good!

However we will be having a gunshow in Chatt. Tn. March 7/8 at the Alhambra Shrine Temple, which is straight 1 mile off the interstate and they will have the cafeteria open for brekfast as well as lunch, which always was delicious and reas. priced. This will be the first show there in about 7/8 yrs. and the always were the best, except in the last yr. there they kept getting smaller and smaller! But since we realy havent had any shows in chatt. except in the last 3 yrs. at the chatt.armory and those were so-so at best!

But march 7/8 there are no shows in knox. so hopefully we will have a great turnout that week! But you just never know, but it is by the same promoter who is new but does seem to put on good shows!

But for you this might be a nice family outing next month, best wishes. James

PS. where is Smithville? Never heard of it!:D

I saw the p6s and was counting out $ for the nicer one but changed my mind:screwy:. His father-in-law is Carter. Seems like a nice guy. There was one really nice looking sks for $290 and a guy in the rt rear with 9mm ammo for $14 a box.

Got to meet Rugerman:).

What kind of (insane) prices were being asked for the ARs?

Posted

I'll find out here soon, getting ready to head up there and take a gander at whats about and such.

Posted

EX. Daewoo pre-ban folder $980. Bush. optics ready carb.$1100. Bush. M-4 $1350. Olympic AR pistol $1100. Sks $270.-$375. WUM-1 AK $625. TGI FEG. rec. Hung. AMD-65 $699. Bought the same AMD at Hero Gear for $599. 2 weeks ago! My fav. was the Sig 556 rifle & pistol combo in camo. limited edition of 1500 in fancy case with acc. $3500.

Prices on all ARs are still high and i dont think those will drop much, same as with certain AKs.

Posted

The price you ask and the price you get are 2 different things.I remember back during the Clinton ban the dealers had the same $1500 AR15's on their tables for show after show, year after year the same guns.

Seems, all the ones i asked would not go lower on anything and seemed offended for being asked!
