After reading this I had a thought, what a slap for all Americans to survive a revolution, establish a new government, free people from the bounds of slavery, grow to be a world power, provide support and aid for weaker countries, and then enslave its own people.

People who fails to learn the lessons of history will repeat them. Guess we are about to see this cycle first hand.

The #1 rule of History is "those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it". If anyone in control has any knowledge of the past I'd be astounded! Elected officials should have History degrees.

We're not doing anything that hasn't been done before. We unfortunatly, are in one of the bad cycles.

For months I've been telling my wife that the economy (which is representative of the people in general) needs a 'hard reset'.

There is a great book called "Atlas Shrugged" written in the 50's, which is ficitonal about America becoming Socialist. Almost everything in that book is happening today. At one point in the book, the hero is talking about socialism and he says that it leaves every man only 1 of 2 choices: "Slavery or the gun"

Actually I did mean exactly that. Our candidates are chosen by the media and special interest that control the media. Do you really think our voting is of free choice. Look at the last 5 presidents. Voting will and can never get us back to a republic or the rule of law.
