What are your thoughts on doing a upgrade from a Century AR15 5.56 to the FNAR 7.62..

Is it a Upgrade?

Keep the AR15?

Trade up to the FNAR?

I know the ammo will be a issue to find plus it will cost more and I am ok with that.

So what do you think?

Link to the FNAR in case you havent see one:

looks like a cool rifle. BUT if that your ONLY AR15 then i wouldn't trade it. save up and buy the FN if you have to have it. with all the aftermarket parts and multiple caliber uppers available, i'd say the ar is a more versatile rifle.

I fondled a FNAR at Hero Gear on Saturday. It impressed me. Did some reading on it today and it is suppossed to be a shooter. I like my AR-10 but would like to shoot a FNAR to see how it compares. If I only had (1) AR-15 I would not trade for the FNAR though. AR-15 is too versitle and ammo is easier to get.

Me personally I'd trade a Century AR for a FNAR, I think if wanted to resell the FNAR would be worth more. If ammo price isn't a issue like you stated I would definitely trade. .308 would cost more but would also be a longer range rifle.

I like the products that FN has...can be a tad pricey though for a carbine or long rifle

If I did the trade Id have to cough up some cash to add for the trade.

Yes its my only AR15.

Maybe Ill just upgrade to a Colt AR15? or a DMPS?
