Fiocchi JHP anyone?

In my search for affordable ammo I'm looking at the deals available in the Fiocchi line. I've never tried them. The price is certainly right, though the ballistics at their website would seem to indicate this is a pretty hot 9mm load.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has cycled some through, esp in 9mm, and what your experiences have been - good, bad, indifferent.

Thanks

what type of gun?? i have not used their 9mm ammo, but have used their other cals. their ammo is not bad and the prices are right (at times). it is hard to say how one brand of ammo shoots in my gun and how the same brand of ammo shoots in your gun. each gun shoots different even in the same brand/type gun. when i get a new to me gun i run ammo tests to see what brand works the best in the gun.

Fiocchi is quality ammo.

Do not expect great terminal performance from their JHPs, though. Fiocchi uses both their own JHP and Hornady's XTP in their Hollow Point offerings. Neither of which measure up to other premium line JHPs.

In the end, though, shot placement is king. So I wouldn't get too "wrapped around the axle" if they are reliable in your gun.

Things I consider when selecting Defense Ammo (personally or professionally for my Dept).

1. Reliability (above all else)

2. Terminal Ballistic Performance

3. Accuracy

4. Muzzle Flash

As others have said, Fiocchi is good ammo.

I can't speak for the 9mm, but several years ago, I purchased 500 rounds of Fiocchi 180gr FMJ .40S&W. I shot all of it out of my SIG P229 without a single problem. Accuracy was okay, but I seem to shoot the P229 better with lighter grained ammo, and the Fiocchi was no different than other 180gr ammo I have used.

I have never tried their JHP ammo.

One of the on-line vendors - ATG lists a few Fiocchi 9mm; or most likely just pick up a single box someplace locally and see how it handles before I buy a quantity.

I have noticed their ballistic charts also. Do any of who have shot this ammo know if it is loaded as hot as they say it is?
