I see your Dobbs and raise you a Riley Neal.:wall:

Yeah, but it's Vandy.   You aren't supposed to necessarily ever be good.

Can't really argue with this at all.  I wonder if UT will cancel the homecoming game so as to avoid some more embarrassment for the season.

The Boys will have been thrashed by enough top 10 teams when homecoming comes around to compete with UAB.

I know, but we have had some decent quarterbacks.

And I didn't think it could get much worse than Dobbs.

I miss him. At least he could run the ball well. JG doesn't excel at anything.

Having the crap beat out of you every game because the o-line can't hold the defense back for more than 3 seconds takes a toll both mentally and physically.  A successful quarterback begins with good protection.

How about the 3rd string quarterback? The Vols looked good today. I was proud of them.

Which one?  Shrout or the wildcat Jennings, lol.

The Boys have a promising future with both Mauer and  Shrout.  They both are very good, level headed, and not afraid to take a hit, unlike Gaurantano who actually delivered today.

Jennings is the man but Shrout was great too. And yes, JG stepped up today.

I'm seeing improvement, they looked like they actually wanted to "play to win", vs play to keep from losing.  They played 4 full quarters of football today, and it was fun to watch Pruett get a flag for argueing with the refs.  But the refs needed several flags thrown against themselves.  They don't need to be discussing "bowl games" yet tho.

We were at the game Saturday and it was entertaining for sure. I'm glad the rain stayed away.  Not sure what they're up to with the QB thing. They'd better be careful with Jennings, he's not used to being hit by 330lb linemen.

Gaurantano played pretty well. I don't fault him at all for his fear of getting hit. He's gotten pounded for several years behind a line that couldn't give him more than 3 seconds. Hopefully he's getting some confidence back.

Im not sure which 12 and under rec league those officials came from, but they need to go back. I'd love to know how that game ranks for overturned scoring plays.

If they qualify, they'll definitely get a bowl game. The powers that be know they won't have any trouble selling 60,000 tickets to UT fans.
