357 magnum cyclinder falls out

I have an older Taurus 357 magnum long barrel 7 shot ! hardly fired ! the cylinder just falls out when time to reload ? when you flip out the cylinder to reload if pointed down the whole cylinder falls out?

I’m not familiar with a Taurus, but does it have screw in the side plate that is missing? Usually a screw holds the crane in. The cylinder is inserted into the crane.

You say the gun is pointed down? I take it the entire crane assembly falls out? If so, I agree with Dave. The retaining screw is either missing or damaged. Easy fix once you get a new screw.

Taurus uses a small hollow screw with a spring and very small detent-kinda looks like a detent out of a AR15 pin-if the screw falls out the whole crane comes out.
