Sheds found

I never saw this buck this year, and the guy who lives on the property said he didn't recognize the rack either.

We found both of them hung in small saplings about 20 feet apart. Within 40 feet of a nice rub, an active scrap (yes today Feb. 7 it was as clean as the first day I came across it in November) and about 10 feet from a new salt lick we put out at the end of the season.

Nice find. I personaly have never found any that where quite that size but have found a lot of rag horns after season while squirrel hunting.

Since I end up spending so much time in the woods (hazard of my weekend job;)) I run across a fair amount of sheds...but I never run across a matching pair. Helluva score mason!!!!

I was out hunting this morning and found my first shed ever. It meant so much to find it! It was a nice rack and the "ol' boy" sporting it would have been about a 10 pointer. We searched high and low and couldn't find the other side...but what a find indeed!

pretty amazing that the deer shed a glock! i have never seen one of those. maybe i will get one next year.....:D

LOL

My Dad said the same thing when I sent him the picture. I told him I put it in the picture so that the size is better recognizable. Hey said "Yeah right, that buck made a hit, and then dumped the evidence."

:D

I have a question about sheds in the smokey mountains. If you happen to find some can you keep them?

That is a good question. I will try and check, unless someone else chimes in before me.

Any thing that is found in the National Park is considerd park property and should not be removed. This includes rocks in the creeks and rivers, don't get caught.

I posed this question to a ranger last fall and he said that if an elk shed is found, do not touch it and report the find at the nearest ranger station.
