That is a very good blog post. It hits the nail right on the head and echoes many of the feelings I had when it came to for me to decide whether to re-enlist or just let my contract expire. Needless to say, I let it expire and I got out. Don't get me wrong, I am very proud to have served my country, but some of the stuff that goes on just doesn't sit right.

I met with five Soldiers to do their re-enlistment counseling this past weekend.

I am losing four. All four were from two year stabilization tours in the Reserves after doing between 3 to 6 on active duty. They stated they have put their life on hold to long. All had at least one tour in Afghanistan or Iraq. Two had multiple tours.

I don't know it the NCO corp failed these Soldiers or the long war.

I approved all the packets with no big deal. You just need to look into their eyes

in an informal environment. I am proud of every one of them.
