I've wondered what kind of wood the Chinese used in these guns. It is obviously not very good quality for gun stocks.

Yeah, its not a good stock wood at all. A lot of rifles from other Countries sometimes don't use good quality wood.

Just seeing this thread but yep, bought a new Norinco back in the 90s for $89+ tax and sold it for $150. Still new in box never fired. It was around the time they came out with AK pistols and banned import of the cheap Chinese steel core ammo. I thought prices would drop. Now we know why I'm not in the stock market LOL

Weird choice, It was just announced the Golf Course Sniper used a scoped SKS not an AK as first reported. Wonder what type? I own a nice condition Chinese from the 80s. Good Scope mounting options are limited but anyway it's telling how many old SKS rifles are lurking around. Canada was still importing them I think until recent restrictions, wouldn't be surprised if alot of them found their way to the US

For someone with a felony conviction for a machine gun it's fairly logical to me. SKS would have been a great buy and bury rifle back in the day they were so cheap. illegible serial number throwaway for the intended shooter.

Odd to me is the golf course was not on the schedule but the shooter knew in advance and lay in wait 12 hours. How did he know DJT was going to be there?

It’s actually not that odd. If you follow Trump’s schedule even semi-closely you’ll know that he’s a seriously avid golfer and on Sunday he’s gonna be playing golf at one of his clubs.

It would take a top notch FBI team of investigators to decipher some of those SKS factory markings then import markings lol
