Public shooting range Bill

Recommended Posts

Posted

A bipartisan bill passed Monday that encourages states to develop additional shooting ranges by making federal excise tax funds available to fish and wildlife agencies.

Known as the Target Practice and Marksmanship Training Support Act, the bill “reduces the percentage of non-federal dollars that need to be spent on a target range to 10 percent,” reported The Western Journal. The bill passed through the House and Senate and is headed to the president’s desk.

Considering that it’s eatimated that non-hunting sport shooting purchases provide approximately 80% of the funds for Pittman-Robertson, it’s nice to see a little love being shown on this front.
