pic-posting question

Ok, since the TGO changeover I can no longer post pics. Under forum rules in the bottom left corner, it says "you may not post attachments." How is everyone else posting pictures? Are you using a host site, such as photobucket?

I use either my webhosting account or my ISP account.

Who's your ISP?

You almost certainly have webspace available there.

Why hassle with a third party place if you already have space you're paying for?

Thanks for the info OS, I never knew my ISP did that....

Don't know of any who don't...

Many here have ComCast, which allows 1 GB per account name, and you can have 6 accounts (email and webspace), your primary plus 5 secondary.

I'm pretty sure that other broadband ISPs like Cox and Charter offer similar.

You have to dig around a little in the help section to figure out how to upload; ComCast has online util to do it, or once you get hip, a FTP utility is faster and more versatile...

I have used Smart FTP to upload files to my ISP.

http://www.smartftp.com/

Works fine...popular app.

Many others, too.

There is even a FireFox add on called Fire FTP that works as well as a standalone proggie too...

All you need to know is the address to upload to, your username and password.

For example Comcast is: upload.comcast.net

Using your username and password automatically opens into your personal webspace for that particular account.

And your base URL for your website or calling for pix/files is:

home.comcast.net/~YourUserName

or

YourUserName.home.comcast.net

for example, the following, bigger pic seen in my avator is at:

"home.comcast.net/~routedriver/pub/SASC9-2.jpg"

Which you can see by simply right clicking on the image and selecting "properties".

How about a Topic dedicated to pic posting. God knows I suck at it.

I have Bellsouth/AT&T. I know I have lots of e-mail storage, but have no idea how to utilize it for posting pictures on a forum. I'm a bit of a binary numbnuts.

Those accounts offer web storage space also.

Somewhere in the online help section it will give you the available info.
