Pricing Question

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am out of state, so I am not selling local to the board. I am just curious how to price...

I have a Century RAS47 Magpul, approximately 5(?) Magpul AK mags and ~1000 rounds of mixed steel case 7.62x39mm. I never shoot it. It sits in the safe. I am a Glock guy, but I don't own a 1911. I am a 9x19mm devout. However yesterday I handled a Kimber Micro 9, and I decided I can not live without two in my life. I can find them at the $500 price point at both Point Blank and Buds here. I am thinking of asking $1000? Is that reasonable?

Is that asking 1k with the hopes of getting 1k or 850-900 ?. That's where I think someone would like you to end up. I did a quick looksee and If It were me 850 to 900 would be a good deal in the current gun climate for the package. I just saw a 1200 round spam of steel case 7.62 sell for 200 and there are several ras regular wood models that have set on local sites for 650.

Just my input but good luck on adding another Kimber either way ;)

Take a look at GunBroker. You can look at completed auctions and you can look at those that actually sold. Quick glance looks like Around $430-$500 for used. Looks like $635 will buy new, and when they get to about $670; they don’t get any bids.

I am glad I didn't do anything rash. I rented the Micro 9 this afternoon. It kept dropping the mag and failing to feed every other round. I did ~15 rounds and took it back to the counter.

I keep trading off my AKMs and then regretting it.

Glad you went and hit the rental counter first, to find out what I know I expected you to experience.

I'm not this biggest Kimber fan but I have shot several that function fine and shoot well. Judging reliability off your experience with a range rental is not always accurate. They're rode hard and put away dirty. Not cleaned and lubed often.

I've sold several Micro 9s and I haven't had any complaints.
