Good on the people of Wyoming, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kentucky, Idaho, Mississippi, and Texas for choosing both of your Senators complete with brains and backbone.

Thanks also to the other opposition Senators, and to all of the good folks who fought against this nominee.

As to the "yes" votes, they will be remembered.

Now, if you listen carefully, you may hear a faint sound in the distance.

For those of you who don't recognize it, that's the Muster Drum.

One of the masterminds behind the second Waco cover-up is the new Attorney General.

He commands the FBI and the BATFE, as well as every single Assistant United States Attorney in the country.

He believes that everyday Americans should be prohibited from owning and using firerams of military utility and their accessories.

He and his subordinates will enforce and prosecute whatever anti-freedom measures the new Congress passes and the President signs.

Get ready.

Here is the response that I got from Corker on Tim Geithner:

Thank you for taking time to contact my office regarding the nomination of Timothy Geithner to be the Secretary of the Treasury Department. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.

Like you, I am concerned with the serious challenges we are facing in our financial markets, and how they are affecting our overall economy. The Department of Treasury plays a crucial role in the recovery process of our economy, and I believe it is important that we have a treasury secretary that understands our financial markets.

There is no question that having a Treasury Secretary nominee with perceived tax issues has been troubling. For that reason, I have spoken several times to Mr. Geithner, read every word of his testimony and his answers to hundreds of questions from the Finance Committee, and then called him again before the vote to ask him a number of very pointed questions. He answered those tough questions regarding his tax returns to my satisfaction. While, like you, my preference would be that we were not in the situation to even have to discuss tax issues with a Treasury Secretary nominee, I also think it is appropriate to give fairly wide latitude to presidents regarding their cabinet selections. At the end of the day, while the issues surrounding Secretary Geithner's confirmation are very important, after spending a great deal of time exploring the merits of his confirmation, I believe that he does pass the test of being qualified to be the Treasury Secretary.

Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me as I serve you in the United States Senate.

Sincerely,

Bob Corker

United States Senator

I got the same response letter from Corker about the Tim Geithner nomination.

This part of Corkers letter pissed me right off. So, if I understand this correctly we are supposed to just go with whoever the new President nominates no matter what their views are or how blatantly corrupt they are? What happened to making a stand for what's right?

About 90% of the issues that I have contacted Corker about, he has voted the opposite way. I would rather vote for a Democrat next time around then re-elect Corker. If he's just going to vote with the Dems on everything, we might as well have one holding the office.

Corker...is a "go along to get along" REPUBLICAN...not worth the vote I cast for his ass. He's proven to me that he a spineless jellyfish on to many occasions thus far...I am disappointed.

I don't care that he may be "qualified" for the job. Just the hint of impropriety should make him ineligable. I'm sure there are tons of other people that would want the job and don't have these kinds of issues.

If Obama really wanted Change, he should say to these potential cabinet members, "If there is anything at all that will come out that will make you or me look bad, then back away. If anything comes out after you accept, I expect you to resign immediately"

That's just it, it's already out, it's been out for years.
