whats with all the overpriced glock kits these days?

All my Glocks are bone stock except for a lighter connector here and there. Got no objection to building one up if that's what you want. The Glock is kinda getting to be the Ruger 10-22 of the pistol world. My Glocks are all stock, but my 10-22 just about doesn't have any ruger parts.

I think that’s about the best analogy I’ve heard to describe it.

I almost got the bug once or twice. TGO David has been no help trying to fight it off either.

I’m still wanting to pimp out my M&P 9 2.0, but the HiPower is coming first. I’m also debating getting a fresh one to do all the work on and leave my carry gun alone.

I would., unless the two are identical. My money says they won't be.

Now, when it comes to pimping, the Glock may be your better platform, just because of the wide range of parts. Not a Glock fan speaking here either. I loved my M&P. I understand why anybody else would too.

Yeah, I don’t have any Glocks, and I’m cool with keeping it that way. I get that there is more available for the Glock, but the M&P is my platform of choice.

I can post a recent photo of it wearing the Surefire X300U-A light and really send you over the edge.  I've started carrying it to church.  :)

People want to dress their guns up, so you have this.  Honestly think that ARs have got people wanting tinker toy guns now.  Not saying ARs are bad, cause they aren't.  But people now want to customize all their guns.  It's the fashion statement of the gun industry now.

Lord willing, it’ll be a looooooooong time (maybe never? 🤞) until we hear it again.

The way firearms were upgraded in the past was beautiful engraving, upgraded walnut stocks, etc. That was expensive & still is, "upgrading" an AR is pretty cheap.

Today many want to out-tacticool each other.LOL

We did consider designing a picatinny mounted drink holder for AR's.

Pretty broad statement there. I have $1000 in the handguard/barrel assembly on one of my Grendels. Got another $300 in the trigger. You can wind an AR up pretty tight if you need to.

I too have some pretty expensive upgrades to my AR's. Giselle, Timney etc.

Quality parts for function is foremost, I was speakng more of appearances.

Damn, that could come in handy on a hot day at the range! 😎

If you want to decrease the reliability of any Glock, put a bunch of aftermarket parts in it.

I have one Glock model 17, I bought it in 1985, sent it down to Georgia and had a 2 lb trigger pull put on it and tritium sights. Out of all my Pistols that is my favorite one to shoot. I can do tac tacs within 2".

I don't know how much truth there is to this. But when I bought this pistol, I was told that the person that invented the Glock, dropped it out of an airplane and it shot fine. To be able to sell his idea, that was the durability test.

Has anyone ever heard of that story before?

Definitely not the gun for the inexperienced. There's only one safety on the whole gun and that's on the trigger. Especially when you have a 2 lb trigger pull.
