Is that a bug or a feature?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seriously tho, get your gear fixed before the folks at Burn All Toddlers First try and hem you up for loaning a rifle that ends up malfunctioning to a friend and call it “transferring an unlicensed machine gun.”

I received my gauge and my bolt checked out OK.    S&W will send you a bolt gauge for free, but you can make one out of a piece of metal .035" thick or use a small feeler gauge.   If the gauge sits flush to the bolt face, you're good.   If it sits proud of the bolt face, it needs to go back.

Got my gauge from S&W, took a little over a week. Mine checked ok too. If I had seen a spec on the thickness I would have just measured it.
