Went to the RK show in K'ville today with '53 vintage Enfield #4 Mk 2 that i've wanted to sell for $400. Several guys were interested but no one had $ or wanted it enough to pay. I did a complete circuit of the floor & went to lunch with a friend. After lunch I returned to the show & a feller offered to swap even for a Swedish Mauser ...I said OK t, the bore looks good and it had a marking disk on the right side next to a small plaque bearing metric bullet drop dope or some such..Or was I the Dope ? Bought some ammo (not cheap) and hope to take 'er to the range when the weather permits ! A new caliber for me too. Any one have any suggestions ? Pictures later (I hope ).

I'd say If you're happy that's all that matters. Now if it's broken or doesn't fire I'd head back to the next show with my unhappy face 😡 looking for the guy lol.

Never had Swede but they are supposed to be crazy accurate.  AIM surplus usually has new Prvi ammo at a decent price.

Like others have said, if you're happy with the trade, then you did fine. If the rifles were in similar condition, I'd say you got the better end of the deal.

If you want to hunt with it, Hornady has some good offerings. They use that caliber for moose in Scandehoovia, so it should be good for most critters in North America as well.

The sweed is a far better shooter accuracy wise especially when your pushing 3-400 yards or more. In its day, it was a national target long range champ. On the other hand, the Brit has more power at medium range & a 10 rd box has now some how become a "thing" in scout rifles.  Dollar wise, neither is far from the other.  Enjoy it!
