It is nice to see snubbies without the Hillary Hole, though. If I can find one to rent and/or try, I'll see if it can compete with my j-frame.

LCR has Hillary Hole too, JFYI.

Hidden under the grip.

Smith & Wesson is now making the 442 and 642 without the Hillary hole.

The great thing is that they are a regular catalog item that has the exact same MSRP as the ones with the internal lock. Great news for people who have traditionally hesitated to buy a S&W...hopefully they will transition it to other models.

There currently is not the slightest bit of talk about a revolver ban being part of AWB.

I am not sure Ruger is doing the right thing at the right time. I think I would get all my resources going towards making the LCP and other auto loaders.

Every LCP I have seen is way way way overpriced. Must be because they are hard to get.

Maybe Ruger could sell more of them if they made more of them instead of worrying about a niche in a market that is non-existent.

I really do not see the purpose of this revolver, but if you like it then go and get one.

There's a brand new Charter Arms .38 coming out now, and it is all metal, and weighs 12 ounces, to the Ruger's 13.5. Being CA, it will cost less, too. Guess which one interests me the most? :hat:

That's what I thought about this one too

but guess what, its higher than the SP101! I was really wanting one till I saw the price tag!

it still has an aluminum frame just a polymer fire control housing, or at least that is what the site says. if joe is correct, and its only an ounce lighter, i predict it wont be a big sell out item, but i wonder what the will recall on it, you know there will be something but what

What's a hillary hole?

Same here. What is a hillary hole?

Internal locking mechanism.

(general explanation0:

Bill Clinton's foundation pushed for smart gun technology, and gave S&W and another company or two, FN among them I think, several hundred grand each to R&D smart gun technology.

In 2000, S&W added the internal lock mechanism, widely seen as a "compromise" to curtail even more restrictive gun "security" features.

Somehow, it has come to be nicknamed the "Hillary Hole", even though it was not her incentive per se that caused its implementation. I guess because she has been an ongoing anti gun senator after Slick Willy left office.

I think its called a Hilliary hole because its a hole that no one want to put their key in :tinfoil:

Well, that context too...but mainly because of Slick Willie's involvement with the "smart gun". And yeah, that he wanted to key into everything BUT Hillary! :P

Probably something to do with the supposed really smooth trigger. :death:

Maybe she got turned off to keys altogether when she started wearing pants all the time? :death:
