31 caliber revolver "Update"

I went to a local gun show Sat. and came home with a new toy.  I spotted this ugly chunk of metal and wood way back on the back of a table and when I picked it up, it was even uglier but couldn't pass it up for what they wanted for it .

It's a Dixie Gun Works kit and looks like whoever bought it originally just took it out of the box and put it together. I either got a diamond in the rough or a gun shaped paperweight but I'm going to see what I can do with it..

That looks like it was put together by an 8th grader in shop class.

That'll make a nice one if you do your part.

I bought a pepper box kit there and put it together when I was a kid. It looks better than yours, but not by much.

A lot of spit and polish, more woodworking on the grips, and that will be a good one!

But time...a lot of time. At least it would be for me.

It will probably be .320.   The balls I cast for my rifle drop at .313 and they just barely slide into the chambers.

Know nothing about the kit, but the .31 worked well back in the old West days.

Very nice work . Woolco in Nashville sold CVA kits in the late 70's for $39.95 . I built one of the .31 cal and a .36 cal also . They were a lot of work to make nice but you seem to be up to the job .
