Savage Model 4C Deluxe - Help Needed Please

Recommended Posts

I have a Savage Model 4C Deluxe .22, and it appears to have a huge amount of side-to-side play in the trigger. Feels very sloppy.

First of all, I know nothing about this rife. I haven't been able to find out any info as to it's age, or anything else for that matter. It does appear to be quite old.

Anyway, I'm wondering if this "sloppy" trigger is "normal" for this rifle. As you can see in the pictures below, there doesn't apprear to be too many ways to tighten things up.

Anyone with experince know how I may remove some of the side-to-side slop in the trigger?

Thanks in advance.

They didn't list a C model or deluxe model. This was all I could find.

TDR in your first pic the pin just above the safety appears to be the trigger pivot pin punch it out and check the hole in the trigger for side wear. you might be able to peen it with a punch and tighten it up .Just one idea to think about

Yea, I thought about that, but a friend of mine gave it to me to sell. I cleaned it up and will post it for sale, shortly. If it were mine, I may start to work on it some, but I don't want to mess it up worse.

Buy it from him and then you can work on it. ;)
