Single shotgun with wiggly barrel

 I've got an old shotgun with a wiggly barrel. Can somebody recommend a easy fix, other than peening the barrel ring where it goes around the reciever? I thought of putting thin shim stock around reciever to tighten it up.

I see on your profile that you are a machinist. You should be able to make a good shim to tighten it up. A pic would help with advice.

Yeah I'm probably gonna try shimming it up. Its a trial and error thing but, thats probably the route I'll go.

Old Single shot break open shot guns are notorious for getting loose since the lock cross pin and barrel lug are pretty soft. The easiest way to tighten them up is to peen the barrel locking lug face back up a little. It doesn't take much. They are about butter soft.
