So a month or so ago I came into possession of a 1966 ford f100 pickup. Until today I haven't had much time to play with it, and all I really knew was that the carb wasn't adjusted right, and it was super lean. So I went out today and tore apart the carb, and adjusted the float. The truck ran better, you could actually take it off full choke, and it wouldn't die! So I tinkered a little, then tore it apart again, and made it a little richer yet, then put it back together. Hopped in the truck, and fired it up, man it ran great! Sounded like it just rolled off the showroom floor! After a couple minutes it started to miss really bad though, and I started to smell gas. This is about the time it hit me...a few cuss words, and a frenzied grab for the ignition switch (not attached, hanging down from the wires), and I ran around front. Sure enough...I never hooked the fuel line back up. Spent the next 15 minutes trying to get the gallon or so of gas off my garage floor...I am goooood!

You're so llluuuuuccccckkkkyyyyy.:D So what engine, 300 I-6, the FE series V8, or replacement?

oldogy

240 6 cylinder, and three speed on the column. When that motor gives up (he assures me it runs good tuned, as the truck cost me $11.01, I don't really care) I'll be putting in a v8. I'm thinking 351 cleveland, with the same 3 speed if it'll work.
