Oh really? Well what if someone invented a round that had the mass, surface area and the velocity of a good self-defense round?

If you've ever been in an actual fire fight, that would answer your question. Can't have too much ammo. You never know when that occasion will crop up.

This is about self defense not an act of war. If you screw up possible jail time, back when in the Army before everything got so screwed up in combat not very likely to face punishment for doing your job, which was killing the enemy. Like I said before personal choice, I never carry a spare mag or extra cartridges for my revolvers. I try not to put myself into situations where there is not and exit.
