Google Global Warnings

Today, after reading a few posts here, I decided to read up on some of the pistols that other members were discussing. Went to Google and did a search using a pistol, caliber, etc. Got lots of returns and every one of the returned links carried the warning "This site may harm your computer."

I'd seen that warning sporadically but not like this. So I ran another search using different key words with the same results - "This site may harm your computer."

I ran several more searches with the same result, the warning appeared even with the homepages of all of the more recognizable discussion groups and firearms manufacturers' official websites.

And, oh yeah, our beloved TGO carries Google's warning. Someone else check it out. This is a bit too coincidental.

Apparently not related to guns and such. I googled the Sumner Co Resource Authority because I need to toss some larger items and everything under Sumner Co has that on it.

Mass spam marketing is my thought.

I quickly googled "Bushmaster", "Smith and Wesson", and "TN Gun Owners", none produced the warning for me.

I just tried several firearms related searches on Yahoo and Google, but didn't see any such warnings. I also did the same searches for Sumner Co Resource Authority, and no warnings there either.

i ran several checks also. did not happen to me. have you run a check of your computer? sounds like your computer as a bug.

weird....I just went back as well and the warnings are gone.

Maybe they buy minutes of spamming from google now? I bet it would send you to a site that sells anti spyware and such.

Maybe the internet profcient amongst us will weigh in on this.

Me too. Restarted the computer, and it was all better.

Thats what I would suggest anytime that starts happening. While I have the best anti-everything it seems like that gets full from time to time and it needs an enema. I've got my pc to scan, fix, and reboot once a week to keep stuff in line. Seems like there is more trash coming in everyday from some of these sites on guns. More lib propaganda I guess, lol.
