Murgatroy, I'm I'm not trying to assert anything about anyone. I'm just seeking some clarification.

Is the firearm you were attempting to purchase a pistol?

It was, in my home state. Where I possess a CCDW. In my home state, a CCDW exempts me from the background check as it is run monthly. As such the CCDW in my home state is considered more stringent than that of other states, such as Tennessee.

*EDIT*

I suppose it is fair to acknowledge this, it might not be obvious. I was raised in Tennessee and left several years ago. I am one of but a few members who maintain a regular membership while living out of state. TGO is by far and away on of the best firearms communities I belong to, as such I have remained a regular posting member after my departure from the state. Reading this, I assumed that most commentators of the thread would understand that. I am sorry if it is lost. I live in KY, I possess a CCDW in KY, I attempted the purchase in KY.

Rural King has dozens of stores. They are an Illinois based chain. There are more than just the Clarksville store. A Kentucky resident would not even be permitted to buy a pistol in Tennessee. CCDW or not.

I like Rural King. Prices are better than TSC.

Sucks you had to go back and get your license but maybe in the end it was good you didn't commit a felony...

A question for those more in the know than me, If you attempt to make this purchase, and are denied, did you commit a crime with the attempt?

If you have an Order Of Protection , a Condition Of Release , or lie on the form about being a domestic violence offender or a felon then you can get arrested. TBI called us last week about some guy trying to buy a gun. He had an OOP . He wasn't supposed to have access to a gun . He was on video handling a gun and trying to buy it . He got arrested.

Will anything come of it?

Sometimes price isn't everything. I have a shop I deal with that is more than reasonable but not always the least expensive. Just saying......

I am the same way. I use the same shop, sometimes it's the best price but not always. But they are easy to deal with.
