I got to see a B17 in flight and got to see it land and take off. They flew one into Nashville when they had the grand opening of that new big runway back years ago. It was a sight to see it for sure.

Something about the old Warbirds and bombers of WWII.  Style, utility and the Technology of that era produced the most beautiful aircraft.

Beautiful and deadly.

Somehow I never got through the whole series. What I saw was excellent. 

I remember seeing an episode where just after the war they were on occupation duty.

Must have been a strange time to be serving. 

 

There was also a follow-up about the Pacific Theatre I believe.
