😁 When I was in the Air Force back in the 90s we did a rotation to Kuwait. On our way back we had a layover in Naples Italy. When we hit the hotel bar they were getting ready to close and we got them to stay open for us and we drank them completely out of beer.

Not an isolated incident, many times an areas shops, restaurants and bars  receive hundreds, to thousands of customers they did not anticipate they struggle to keep consumables on hand,

There are plenty of instances of cruise ships running out of supplies and buying everything they can get in a particular port, leaving the locals with nothing.

When stationed in Germany there were several times when a bunch of friends and I hit the EM club and drank up all the American beer they had in stock. The cheap German brands they carried pretty much sucked.
