EAA and Taurus revolver

I was just wondering if anybody knows about EAA or Taurus revolvers? The Windicator looks like it might be good. Just looking for a good vehicle/beat around gun.

One of my brothers had an EAA revolver.  One evening we were dry firing it in his living room and the hammer just broke off.  I don't mean the firing pin, I mean the whole hammer.  I don't think he even tried to get it repaired.

I have fired some Taurus .38 revolvers and they worked OK.  Not as good as a Smith or a Ruger, but for someone who can't afford anything better, it would be preferable to being unarmed.

Cheers,

I have a EAA Windicator .357 and Taurus .22 revolvers. All go bang everytime I pull the trigger. Are they as good as my old Smith revolvers, probably not, but even new Smiths are not. Lol

I don't have any particular beef with Taurus. Owned a coupl and still have pimped 92 clone. Shoots every time.

A friend has 2 Tauri revolvers.

He is a bit of a gun snob and speaks highly of value and quality.

If I was looking, I'd give them  strong consideration.

Long ride, but I'd take this over a dozen EAAs or Tauri.

I was thinking the same thing.  Don’t go cheap on a revolver.

I bought a model 64 just like the one in the add around 1980 I'm guessing. Should never have let it go. Excellent firearm.

When I was at Buds a couple months ago, they had quite a few French police trade in S&W 64's & 10's.  I think they were like $249 & $269 a pop. Had me thinking seriously on one but then I settled on the near mint Star BM 9mm for $199.99 on the box. Give em a call and see if they still have any. They all ready are vehicle seasoned!

Man, I don't remember you letting us know that??? Not bad for a shooter grade.

I like S&W and I love old Colts, but they are usually priced too high for me.  I was in the market for a new 4" .357 (not .38spl) back in the Spring, Ended up with a ported Taurus Tracker.  My next option would have been a Ruger GP100, for about $150 more.  New S&Ws were completely out of my price range at an additional $300.

I think S&W is trying to go the way of Colt and their snake guns.  Everyday use revolvers are a thing of the past for both companies, unless you are looking for a small carry piece.

Ruger would do well to expand their line of LCRs and sell one in .357mag with a 3" and 4" barrel.  That would have probably been very much in my price range!

I have a Windicator .357..  think I got it 5 years ago.  Love it.  Shoot mostly .38 out of it ... do to shooting indoors and even with great ear protection .357 rounds sound like a freaking canon going off... just be careful  with your thumb...the cylinder release can take off a thumb nail if not careful
